Dan Beck
4th Degree Black Belt Aiki Ninjutsu
I started training at Warrior’s Edge Martial Arts in September of 2010 after graduating from college. I was looking for something to do while looking for my first job out of college and had always had an interest in martial arts but had never tried any before. I was looking for something with a lean toward self-defense rather than standing in a line and memorizing forms and I found my way to Warrior’s Edge. I came in and tried out a free class and was hooked after that. I started coming in twice a week and that quickly turned into 5 days a week for a while. Beyond the knowledge and confidence that I have gained to defend myself I have also made friendships that I can carry with me the rest of my life.
Outside of training at Warrior’s Edge, I also enjoy woodworking and riding my bike when the weather allows. I learned woodworking from my dad and have made everything from shelves and bookcases to tables and cabinets. I have taken those woodworking skills and adapted them to benefit my martial arts training by making wooden bokken, knives, bo’s and other training weapons. When the weather allows, I also enjoy spending time on my bike on the extensive bike trails that we have in this area. I’ve spent countless hours exploring the various trails and have even ridden my bike between Naperville and the Wisconsin border, all on bike trails.
I look forward to training with everyone and feel free to come and say Hello!
