7th Degree Black Belt Aiki Ninjutsu/2nd Degree Isshin-Ryu Karate
I started my training in martial arts at a young age following in my father’s footsteps. My martial arts journey began with training in Isshin-Ryu Karate where I attained a 2nd degree black belt. Despite this achievement, I always struggled with confidence and a fear of confrontation. While exploring other avenues of martial arts interest, I found myself watching a demo performed by students of Michael Eichenberg. Fascinated by Mr. Eichenberg‘s approach to self-defense and historical martial arts training, I signed up right away and have been a student of Mr. Eichenberg for over 20 years. As my skill grew, so did my confidence. I now apply the mental lessons learned in the Dojo to my clinical social work practice. As a licensed clinical social worker, I have served the past 11 years as an adult protective services caseworker, investigating abuse allegations against elderly people and people with disabilities. Now, I am exploring the use of these martial secrets in my practice of psychotherapy with clients of all ages.
